Tank Closed Vent System Analysis

Valor’s dynamic/transient CVS analysis has been the cornerstone of this discipline since the Noble Consent Decree in 2014. Our methods have been vetted and successfully defended in EPA Consent Decree and CAFO negotiations, and Colorado Compliance Orders on Consent (COC) for 11 years.

  • Field verified
  • Incorporates real-world scenarios and lessons learned
  • Defensible yet realistic
  • Customizable and user friendly

ARE THERE OTHER TANK CVS ANALYSIS OPTIONS?

Absolutely. Valor’s team has been at the forefront of new methods for proving compliance including Closed Loop Vapor Control Systems (CLVCS) and Responsive Tank Pressure Monitoring (RTPM), all negotiated and approved by the EPA. Our goal is to provide a realistic and reasonably conservative method for analyzing facilities and ensure your tanks meet OOOOa, OOOOb, OOOOc, Regulation 7, and all closed cover requirements.

TANK PRESSURE MODELED DYNAMICALLY

Valor’s dynamic analysis provides a second-to-second look at your facility’s Tank Pressure Profile. It dynamically evaluates the actuation of dump valves, pumps, LACT rejects, truck loadout vapors, and any other Direct or Indirect input to the tank system as a function of time. Valor may recommend a simplified approach depending on the well type, number of stages of separation, etc however the dynamic CVS analysis is the cornerstone of understanding how tank pressure behaves during operation.

MITIGATIONS AND VERIFICATION

Valor provides a pragmatic approach to mitigation – first refining the analysis with field test data and then evaluating the cheapest “low hanging fruit” such as valve trim adjustments or changing LACT on/off set points before CVS and flare upgrades are even considered. Many CVS design issues are simple fixes, and we strive to look under those rocks first.
